RTGroup Commits $2.5 Million of IT Services to Help 1,000 Businesses
Ian Robertson : Jun 19, 2022
Given the growing cybersecurity threats, which have been further exacerbated by recent global events, there is an urgent need for proactive measures to counter these threats in all areas. Not only have we witnessed a surge in cybercrime on a global scale, but there has also been a concerning rise in reported attacks on businesses in British Columbia. In 2020 alone, there were 14,372 reports of cybercrime in BC, a significant increase from the 6,107 reports in 2016. These numbers have continued to double and grow over the past few years, underscoring our unwavering commitment to safeguarding British Columbians from severe cyber blows. Consequently, we have joined forces with leading cybersecurity partners to provide complimentary security measures to 1,000 businesses of all sizes throughout 2022 and 2023.
Beginning this month, we are launching a new initiative that offers a complimentary cybersecurity scan, along with a 30-minute session to review our findings and develop an action plan. This initiative aims to assist organizations in addressing any vulnerabilities identified during our analysis, with the ultimate goal of educating British Columbia organizations to prevent falling victim to cybercrime or suffering devastating financial losses.
Our proposed security scan is simple to complete, requiring minimal time and causing no disruptions to your team. In fact, it involves nothing more than sending a link to your staff and requesting them to download and run a small application. The purpose of this process is to educate you and your staff about the potential information or access that cybercriminals can obtain when a malicious link is clicked within a website, email, or attachment.
Upon completion of the scans, we will need a couple of days to analyze the information and prepare the presentation of findings, including an action plan. Subsequently, we will schedule a follow-up meeting to review the results and discuss the necessary steps to resolve any identified cybersecurity issues.
Our vision to support fellow businesses has been inspired by our own origins as a proud and successful local company. Now, more than ever, we find ourselves in a prime position to fulfill our deepest aspirations—to give back to our remarkable and resilient community. If you are a client of Robertson Technology Group (RTGroup), rest assured that you have either been contacted or will soon receive further information regarding the scheduled scan. For non-RTGroup clients, please visit our webpage here to secure your complimentary security scan, complete with an actionable plan.
Regardless of your business's size, the state of your IT infrastructure, or whether you have internal, outsourced, or no IT support, we hope to gain your support in our upcoming endeavor. Let us join forces in pursuit of our shared objective: fostering the prosperity of businesses across British Columbia.
